Ramallah – In an act of solidarity, humanitarian aid was delivered by land to the Palestinian populations of Gaza and Al-Quds on Tuesday. This operation, launched on HM King Mohammed VI’s high instructions, marks another chapter in the series of ‘generous initiatives’ by in support of the Palestinian cause, says Mohamed Ziad Al-Jaabari, president of the Moroccan-Palestinian Friendship Association.
According to Al-Jaabari, ‘the timing is particularly meaningful, coinciding with the fasting month of Ramadan and addressing the growing needs of the Palestinian people,’ as he stated in a declaration to MAP.
This is not Morocco’s first humanitarian gesture towards the Palestinians. It reflects the enduring support of HM King Mohammed VI, who also presides over the Al-Quds Committee, for the Palestinian cause. The aid is part of a broader spectrum of Moroccan initiatives aimed at supporting the Palestinian people, including the deployment of a military medical-surgical field hospital in Gaza in 2018.
The aid arri
ves amidst challenging conditions, particularly in the northern and central regions of the Gaza Strip, where the population endures a severe blockade. ‘This initiative is expected to alleviate the suffering of the population at the onset of the blessed month of Ramadan,’ Al-Jaabari noted.
Al-Jaabari further commanded Morocco’s steadfast position, both officially and among its populace, in supporting the Palestinian cause and defending the Palestinian people.
