Mumbai: For the third consecutive year, Morocco is participating in the OTM (Outbound Travel Market) trade show, one of the major events for outbound tourism in India and Asia, whose 2026 edition opened on Thursday in Mumbai. The event, inaugurated in the presence of Morocco’s ambassador to New Delhi Mohamed Maliki, brings together more than 2,100 exhibitors from over 60 countries and welcomes more than 50,000 trade visitors, offering participating destinations direct access to the Indian outbound travel market, one of the most dynamic in the world.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT) set up an immersive 200 m² stand, highlighting the diversity of the country’s tourist offering and the authenticity of the Moroccan experience. The Kingdom’s pavilion is intended to showcase Moroccan heritage, culture, and expertise, with the aim of attracting Indian travel professionals.
Nine Moroccan incoming travel agencies are also participating in this edition, providing a strategic platform to boost Morocco’s visibility as a destination, forge partnerships, and attract new tourist flows from India and Asia. The Kingdom’s participation in this event, held until next Saturday, comes amid strong growth in Indian tourism to Morocco. Arrivals increased by 31% in 2025 compared to 2024 and by 224% compared to 2019, confirming the growing interest of Indian customers in the destination.
Through its presence at OTM 2026, Morocco intends to enshrine its position as a destination of choice for the Indian market, in line with the ONMT’s strategy to diversify source markets and support growth dynamics of international tourism to the Kingdom. According to industry data, Indian travelers spent $31.7 billion abroad in 2024. Projections indicate 80 to 90 million Indian trips per year, positioning the country as the leading source market in the Asia-Pacific region.
