Panamanian Ship Sinks Off Coast of Laayoune


Laayoune: A Panamanian commercial vessel named “DURA BULK” has sunk off the coast of Laayoune after experiencing water ingress while en route to the



port with a cargo of bulk clinker, as detailed in a press release from the Ministry.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the relevant authorities promptly launched extensive search and rescue operations following the report of the incident. These efforts successfully resulted in the rescue of all crew members aboard the vessel.

The crew, who are all foreign nationals, were safely evacuated and provided with necessary care, as noted by the Ministry. The Ministry of Transport and Logistics is actively coordinating with concerned authorities to closely monitor the situation.

An investigation will be initiated to determine the precise circumstances and causes that led to this maritime incident, the Ministry’s statement concluded.
