PM Shtayyeh urges European Parliament to pressure Israel to stop its aggression against Palestinian people

Prime Minister Mohammed Shtayyeh called on the European Parliament to pressure Israel to stop its aggression against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including Jerusalem. He also called on the European parliament to pressure Israel to stop all attempts to displace the Palestinians, to open the crossings leading to the Gaza Strip and to allow the entry of medical and relief aid and fuel to meet the needs of the people there as well as restoring electricity and water. The Prime Minister made these remarks during a meeting in Ramallah with a delegation from the European Parliament. He stressed that the Netanyahu government and previous governments are waging a war against all the Palestinian components, including land, people, and authority in Gaza and the West Bank, adding these governments are working to systematically destroy the possibility of embodying the establishment of a Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with Jerusalem as its capital, in addition to pushing Gaza out of the national and geographical scene. He added that the West Bank has not been spared from the occupation's aggression, including daily incursions into Palestinian areas, killings and detentions, storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque and attacks on worshipers and pilgrims in Jerusalem, in addition to enhancing settlement expansion through the annexing more lands and arming settlers to facilitate more killing. The Prime Minister stressed the necessity of working to create a political path under international, multilateral sponsorship to find a just solution that includes all Palestinian territories.
