Guercif – Police officers of the town of Guercif arrested, on Monday, a 63-year-old Dutch national of Egyptian origin, who was the subject of an international arrest warrant issued by German judicial authorities.

A check against the database of the International Criminal Police Organization “INTERPOL” revealed that the suspect was wanted internationally under an arrest warrant issued by the national central office “Wiesbaden” in Germany, on suspicion of heroin trafficking, said a security source.

The suspect was placed in police custody before being referred to the relevant public prosecutor’s office, while the national central office “Interpol Office in Rabat” of the General Directorate of National Security was in charge of notifying its counterpart in Germany of the arrest under the extradition procedure, it added.

This operation is part of the Moroccan security services’ commitment to implementing international security cooperation mechanisms, including the search for and arrest of individuals wanted in
ternationally in cases linked to transnational crime.
