Political Affairs Undersecretary attends Indonesian Embassy’s celebration

Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Political Affairs Undersecretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, emphasised Bahrain's commitment led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa with the follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister to strengthening cooperation and strategic partnerships with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

The kingdom's cooperation with ASEAN will contribute to consolidating security, peace, and sustainable development in the region and the world, Dr. Shaikh Abdulla said.

During a ceremony in Manama, Indonesian Ambassador Ardi Hermawan hoisted the ASEAN flag to celebrate the 56th anniversary of the Association's founding.

Dr. Shaikh Abdulla highlighted the progress made in the process of cooperation and strategic partnership with ASEAN in the political, economic, and security domains, especially since the accession of Bahrain to the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia (TAC), its presidency of the Asian Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) in its current session, and its support for the strategic dialogue between the Association of Southeast Asian Nations and the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (ASEAN-GCC) since its inception in Manama.

The ambassador praised Bahrain’s keenness to further enhance strategic partnership, cooperation, and dialogue with ASEAN.

He noted the support for the embassy's activities and the two countries' keenness to further enhance their ties.
