RAMALLAH: The Official Spokesman for the Presidency, Nabil Abu Rudeineh, condemned Wednesday the Israeli occupation’s policy of isolation and the destruction of the northern war-torn Gaza Strip.

He stated that what the Israeli occupation forces are doing in terms of the full ferocious siege on and the isolation of the northern Strip coupled with the relentless military operations intended to force hundreds of thousands to evacuate their homes and forcibly displace them, burning displaced persons to death in tents, and destroying what remains of homes in the Jabalia refugee camp are not only war crimes punishable by international law but also a violation of international humanitarian law.

He pointed out that it is unacceptable to allow the Israeli genocidal aggression, which resulted in killing at least 42,344 civilians and injuring 99,013 others, to go unabated, at a time when the occupation continues to implement schemes intended to eliminate UNRWA, and ultimately, liquidate the refugee issue, noting that
the UN Security Council remains paralyzed due to the US policy of supporting the occupation and its policies.

He affirmed that the United States bears responsibility not only by insisting on challenging the international will that unanimously stressed the need to halt the genocidal aggression immediately but also by preventing the occupation from being held accountable for its crimes and by supplying all kinds of funding and military aid to the occupation, abetting Israel to proceed with perpetrating heinous crimes against the Palestinian people and the region.

He stressed that the occupation’s schemes to separate the northern Gaza Strip from the rest of the occupied territories of the State of Palestine were rejected and condemned, affirming that these policies would neither bring security nor stability.

He reiterated that the only solution to the region’s problems lies in the realization of the independence of the State of Palestine on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, while affirming
that otherwise the region would be destined to live endless wars, instability and destruction.
