President Mahmoud Abbas received today a phone call from the Prime Minister of Norway, Jonas Gahr Støre, during which they discussed the latest developments in the Palestinian arena.

During the phone conversation, President Abbas stressed the necessity of working with all regional and international parties to stop the Israeli aggression against our people everywhere, especially in the Gaza Strip.

He stressed the importance of providing relief and humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip and securing supplies of water, electricity, and basic materials.

President Abbas appreciated Norway’s positions in support of peace, recalling the role that Norway played in the peace process, and the continuing role it plays in mobilizing aid to build state institutions, advance the Palestinian economy, and coordinate among donor countries.

The President also highlighted the necessity of working towards a political solution that ends the occupation.

For his part, the Prime Minister of Norway stressed his country’s commitment to the two-state solution and that it will continue to stand by the Palestinian people in their quest for self-determination.
