New York:Qatar reiterated its support for Morocco’s sovereignty and territorial integrity during a session of the 4th Committee of the United Nations General Assembly. The nation expressed backing for Morocco’s autonomy initiative, which aims to provide a “realistic and lasting” solution to the Moroccan Sahara issue.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Qatar’s representative described the autonomy plan as a ‘constructive initiative’ and emphasized its potential as an objective basis for achieving a sustainable resolution.

Qatar also voiced its support for the United Nations Secretary General’s efforts to facilitate a lasting and mutually acceptable political solution. This support is aligned with the ongoing political process under the UN framework and Security Council resolutions, particularly resolution 2797, to ensure Morocco’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
