Rabat Hosts 8th International Conference on Advanced Technologies for Humanity


Rabat: The 8th International Conference on Advanced Technologies for Humanity (ICATH 2026), held under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, commenced at the Faculty of Sciences in Rabat. The event brings together leading academics, researchers, policymakers, and industry representatives from across the globe.



According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the conference is organized by Mohammed V University in Rabat and runs from July 15 to 17. It serves as a global platform for dialogue on the latest advances in artificial intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies, focusing on harnessing innovation to promote sustainable development and improve people’s livelihood.



Mohammed V University President Mohamed El Ghachi, speaking at the opening ceremony, emphasized the central role of knowledge and collective intelligence in addressing global challenges. He highlighted the university’s commitment to research excellence and international partnerships to bolster Rabat’s reputation as a global hub for scientific cooperation.



Dean of the Faculty of Sciences Redouane Benaini pointed out the need for stronger collaboration between academia, industry, and public authorities. He addressed challenges related to cybersecurity, energy transition, smart cities, and digital transformation, while advocating for the ethical and responsible use of advanced technologies.



Participants at the conference highlighted Morocco’s growing role in South-South cooperation and its position as a regional hub for technological collaboration with African partners.



The three-day conference includes plenary sessions, scientific panels, workshops, and networking meetings. Topics covered include AI, cybersecurity, smart cities, the Internet of Things, digital health, renewable energy, digital transformation, and other advanced technologies supporting sustainable development.
