Rabat Meeting Focuses on Media Coverage for Upcoming Legislative Elections


Rabat: A meeting was held in Rabat with public media officials to discuss the media coverage of the upcoming legislative elections scheduled for September 23, 2026, as part of preparations for the elections for members of the House of Representatives. The meeting was organized by the Ministry of Interior.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the meeting served as a platform to review the arrangements and measures to be taken by the public media. The focus was on creating the appropriate conditions to encourage citizens, particularly the youth, to register on the general electoral rolls and participate massively in the voting process. The aim is also to strengthen their confidence in the national electoral process.

The meeting emphasized the importance of adopting an adequate awareness-raising discourse through frank and fruitful debates. It called for greater professionalism, innovation, and creativity in the content of programs produced by the public media, especially those related to political issues
and national elections.

Furthermore, the meeting highlighted the need for involving political parties in the communication campaign. This involves using television and radio programs produced by public media to enable political formations to mobilize citizens and persuade them to participate in the national electoral process. The ultimate goal is to achieve a respectable voter turnout in the upcoming elections.
