Morocco’s Transport Ministry, CDG Sign Convention to Digitize Road Transport

Rabat: Morocco’s Ministry of Transport and Logistics, the Deposit and Management Fund (CDG), and CDG Incept have signed Thursday in Rabat, a convention aimed at revolutionizing Morocco’s road transport sector through total digitization.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the convention was signed by Minister of Transport and Logistics Abdessamad Kayouh and Director General of the CDG Khalid Safir. This marks the beginning of a six-month transition toward a fully digital ecosystem for freight and international transport.

The initiative aligns with the High Royal Orientations and national priorities for digitizing public services, directly contributing to the “Digital Morocco 2030” strategy. Under the new framework, transport companies and drivers will transition to a comprehensive digital platform for tracking critical real-time data such as vehicle speed, total distance traveled, and precise geolocation.

Abdessamad Kayouh mentioned that the objective is to integrate the transport system into the digital sphere to facilitate access to relevant information for all users. The new system will eliminate the need for physical visits to the Ministry at both central and provincial levels.

Khalid Safir described the convention as the first step in the Ministry’s support for the digitization of its procedures. He noted that the initiative will improve the working framework while ensuring compliance with international standards for cross-border transport.

Through this partnership, the parties reaffirm a collective commitment to modern, innovative, and high-performance governance based on institutional cooperation and the pooling of expertise, in order to foster a modern and high-performance governance model that serves both citizens and transport professionals.
