Royal Archives Directorate Hosts Delegation from Hungary, Austria

Rabat: The Royal Archives Directorate recently welcomed a delegation from Hungary and Austria, marking a significant step in international archival collaboration. This visit is part of ongoing agreements with the National Archives of Hungary and the Austrian State Archives, concluded in August 2024 and February 2025, respectively.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the visit highlights a commitment to enhancing cooperation and establishing channels for exchanging expertise in various fields, including documentation, archiving, conservation methods, restoration, and digitization. It underscores the Royal Archives Directorate’s openness to integrating experiences from Eastern European institutions like those in Austria and Hungary.

The visit is an important progression toward building multilateral partnerships aimed at preserving shared historical ties and memory with countries connected to the Kingdom. The program includes working sessions with officials, field visits to national libraries, media libraries, archive centers, specialized museums, and tours of archaeological sites and landmark monuments. These activities provide the Hungarian and Austrian delegations with an opportunity to experience the cultural and civilizational heritage of Morocco firsthand.
