Accra:The Speech delivered by HM King Mohammed VI at the opening of the parliament illustrates visionary leadership grounded in realism and responsibility, according to Peter Panyin Anaman, founder and executive director of the Global African Heritage Foundation.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Anaman emphasized that the King’s acknowledgment of both Morocco’s achievements and the challenges that remain demonstrates a leadership style based on clarity of choices and responsibility. He noted that the Royal Speech serves as a reminder that progress in Morocco and across Africa requires responsible leadership, respect for national sovereignty, and cooperation aimed at achieving concrete objectives.
Anaman pointed out that for African nations, the key takeaway is the integration of national pride with a realistic approach, effective institutions, and a strong commitment to improving citizens’ living conditions. He also highlighted the King’s assessment of the limitations of the current migration cooperation model, underscoring the need for pragmatic, humane, and sustainable solutions based on shared responsibility.
The emphasis on Morocco’s sovereignty and partnerships founded on mutual respect reaffirms the importance of reciprocity and active participation in shaping new directions for international cooperation. Additionally, Anaman highlighted the significance placed in the Royal Speech on water security, energy, food production, industrialization, digital transformation, AI, and youth empowerment, which are priorities shared by many African countries.
