Safi: The Provincial Directorate of the Ministry of National Education, Preschool, and Sports in Safi has announced the suspension of classes in all schools in the province for three days due to adverse weather conditions.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, “Following the torrential thunderstorms that hit the province of Safi, it was decided, in coordination with the provincial authorities, to suspend classes in all schools in the province on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday as a precautionary measure,” said the Provincial Directorate of National Education, Preschool, and Sports in a statement.
This decision comes in response to the weather alerts issued by the General Directorate of Meteorology and aims to ensure the safety of students as well as teaching and administrative staff in the face of flood-related risks, which require vigilance and caution, the statement added.
Coordination has been established with school principals to ensure the safety of students and educational and administrative staff,
notably through the activation of the local monitoring unit, coordination with all stakeholders and local authorities, the implementation of all preventive measures, and immediate response to weather alerts issued by the General Directorate of Meteorology, the statement said.
The same source indicated that two primary schools were affected by flooding, although no casualties were reported, following the exceptional rainfall that the province experienced last Sunday.
