Rabat: The September 23 elections carry significant democratic, economic, and social importance, said First Deputy Secretary-General of the Justice and Development Party (PJD) Driss El Azami El Idrissi. The elections aim to foster the emergence of institutions with competent and integrity-driven representatives who are capable of addressing the nation’s concerns, according to El Azami El Idrissi in an interview with MAP.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, El Azami El Idrissi emphasized the need to support businesses to benefit from Morocco’s investment momentum and public procurement opportunities on the economic front. Socially, the focus is on expanding social coverage, broadening pension schemes, generalizing unemployment benefits, and improving access to basic social services.

The PJD has prepared for the elections by forming a committee to address electoral laws and establish internal procedures for candidate selection. The party aims to position young individuals under 35 and female expatriates
in leadership roles within local and regional constituencies.

Additionally, the party has launched an electronic platform to gather citizen proposals for its electoral program. This platform is designed to engage young people, women, and Moroccan expatriates.

El Azami El Idrissi stated that the PJD’s primary objective is to make these elections a significant democratic milestone, enhancing the democratic process and allowing citizens to transparently and freely choose their representatives. The party seeks to secure top positions to contribute to national reforms and support ongoing development efforts within the Kingdom.
