Several Moroccan Provinces Brace for Heat Wave in Days Ahead


Rabat: A heat wave is expected across several provinces of the Kingdom in the coming days, with temperatures ranging between 34°C and 42°C from Wednesday through Friday, Morocco’s weather authority said.



According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, temperatures varying between 37 and 42°C are expected in the provinces of Ouazzane, Meknes, Fez, Moulay Yaacoub, Taounate, Sidi Kacem, Khemisset, Sidi Slimane, Khouribga, Fquih Ben Salah, Khenifra, Settat, Youssoufia, El Kelaa des Sraghna, Marrakesh, Rehamna, Beni Mellal, Chichaoua, and Taroudant from Wednesday to Friday, as noted in an orange-level alert bulletin by the General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM).



The hot spell is also forecast on Wednesday and Thursday in Agadir-Ida-Ou-Tanane, Kenitra, Larache, Benslimane, Nouaceur, Berrechid, Essaouira, Safi, Sidi Bennour, Chtouka-At Baha, Guelmim, Inzegane-At Melloul, and Tiznit.



Similarly, Casablanca, Mediouna, Mohammedia, Rabat, Sal©, Skhirat-Temara, El Jadida, and Sidi Ifni are bracing for scorching temperatures ranging between 34 and 38°C, notes the bulletin.
