‘Severe Cold’ Operation: Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity Provides Aid to 963 Households in Al Haouz

Rabat: The Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity carried out, on Thursday, the distribution of aid to 963 households across several communes in Al Haouz Province as part of the “Severe Cold” Operation, launched in line with the High Instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, this humanitarian operation targeted the populations of the communes of Tlat N’Yacoub (351 beneficiary families), Ighil (278 families), and Aghbar (334 families), which are among the areas most exposed to extreme weather and low temperatures.

The beneficiary households received humanitarian aid including basic foodstuffs and blankets, distributed by three field teams mobilized by the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity. These teams were composed of staff from the General Directorate of Social Services (DGSS) of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR), as part of a sustained logistical and human effort to ensure the success of the operation.

In a statement to MAP, the Communications Director of the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity, Sanae Dardikh, said that, in accordance with the High Royal Instructions, the Foundation mobilized all of its human and logistical resources and went into the field to launch this operation to respond to the needs of populations affected by the cold wave currently hitting the Kingdom.

She further explained that the Foundation began the distribution of humanitarian aid on the ground for affected populations in the various targeted areas, giving priority to the provinces most impacted by the cold wave, particularly Al Haouz Province.

Dardikh added that the operation focuses specifically on mountainous areas, emphasizing the delivery of humanitarian aid to populations living in villages facing difficulties due to the drop in temperatures.

Several beneficiaries expressed their deep gratitude to His Majesty King Mohammed VI and praised the efforts of the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity and all parties involved for the success of this humanitarian initiative.

In similar statements, they noted that this support came at a critical time given the adverse weather in the region and will significantly help alleviate the effects of the severe cold wave while improving living conditions for affected families.

The intervention of the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity in the Marrakech-Safi region covers Al Haouz and Chichaoua provinces, alongside similar actions in several other provinces, including Azilal and Kh©nifra (B©ni Mellal-Kh©nifra region), as well as Taroudant (Souss-Massa region).
