Rabat: Snowfall at heights above 1,400 meters, as well as locally thunderous heavy rain, are expected from Sunday to Tuesday in several provinces of the Kingdom, according to the General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM).
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, snowfall ranging from 10 to 20 centimeters is forecast on Sunday from 12:00 PM to 11:00 PM in the provinces of Ifrane, Sefrou, Boulemane, Taza, and Guercif. The DGM has issued an “orange” level weather alert in anticipation of the conditions.
The snowfall is expected to intensify on Monday, with accumulations between 20 and 40 centimeters predicted from 12:00 AM to 11:00 PM in Sefrou, Ifrane, Guercif, Taza, Boulemane, and Midelt. Additionally, snowfall of 10 to 20 centimeters will impact the provinces of Khenifra, Azilal, B©ni Mellal, Taourirt, Al Hoceima, and Chefchaouen from 12:00 PM to 11:00 PM.
In addition to snowfall, locally thunderous heavy rain measuring 35 to 50 millimeters is anticipated on Monday from 12:00 AM to 11:00 PM in the provinces of T©touan, Chefchaouen, Fahs-Anjra, Mdiq-Fnideq, Taza, and Al Hoceima. The same rainfall levels will affect Sefrou, Driouch, Nador, and Berkane from Monday at 12:00 PM to Tuesday at 3:00 AM.
The provinces of Larache, Tanger-Assilah, Ouezzane, and Taounate are also expected to experience similar rainfall levels, ranging from 25 to 40 millimeters, on Monday from 12:00 AM to 11:00 PM, according to the same source.
