Rabat: Moroccan Soufiane El Bakkali won the 3000m steeplechase at the Mohammed VI International Athletics Meeting on Sunday in Rabat. By setting the world-leading time of the year with a clocking of 7:57.25, El Bakkali finished ahead of Germany’s Frederick Ruppert and Kenya’s Simon Kiprop Koech.
