Banjul – The Kingdom of Morocco is a “leading country” and a “leader” in promoting South-South cooperation on the African continent, under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, emphasized the Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Gambians Abroad, Mamadou Tangara.
In a statement to MAP on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of His Majesty King Mohammed VI’s accession to the Throne of His Glorious Ancestors, Tangara highlighted the Sovereign’s unwavering commitment to promoting cooperative relations between the countries of the continent.
Under the enlightened guidance of His Majesty the King, Morocco places great importance on strengthening the capacities of African countries and promoting human capital, which is an essential element for ensuring Africa’s growth, he noted.
In this regard, the head of Gambian diplomacy affirmed that His Majesty the King’s Atlantic Initiative precisely embodies this ambition to create “an African space of development, solidarity, and stability
.”
“The Gambia welcomes this Royal Initiative, which aims to create a space of development, solidarity, and stability. Africa greatly needs such a space,” he said.
And Tangara concluded that it is with this perspective that Gambia “enthusiastically supports” this Royal Initiative aimed at addressing development issues in Africa.
