Spain’s Rafael Jódar Clinches 40th Hassan II Tennis Grand Prix Title


Marrakech: Spain’s Rafael Jódar won the 40th Hassan II Grand Prix on Sunday in Marrakech, held on the courts of the Royal Tennis Club of Marrakech. The Spanish player, currently ranked 89th globally, defeated Argentina’s Marco Trungelliti in the final in straight sets (6-3, 6-2).

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Rafael Jódar has succeeded Italian Luciano Darderi, the defending champion of the 39th edition of the Hassan II Grand Prix. Displaying a strong command over every aspect of the game, the Spaniard limited his opponent’s opportunities, setting the pace from the very first rallies.

The match, which lasted 1 hour and 8 minutes, quickly turned in Jódar’s favor, as he claimed the first set 6-3. He then continued to demonstrate his superiority in the second set, which he won 6-2, securing a clear and decisive victory.
