Rabat: In a statement to MAP on the sidelines of an international conference on the challenges posed by new media, Jos© Alvarez, journalist for the TV show El Chiringuito, and Gonzalo Alvarez, of Cadena Ser, Spain’s most listened-to radio station, emphasized Morocco as a football-loving nation, which has made significant strides in preparing to successfully host major continental and international sporting events.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Jos© Alvarez expressed his admiration for Morocco’s infrastructure and stadiums, highlighting their capacity to host AFCON 2025 and the 2030 World Cup. He noted that Morocco boasts “large, modern stadiums that rival the best in the world, along with state-of-the-art infrastructure.”
Jos© Alvarez further stated that Morocco is primed to host a historic AFCON starting this December and a World Cup in 2030 alongside Spain and Portugal. He emphasized that Morocco’s passion for football is a critical factor for successful competitions.
Gonzalo Alvarez also shared his perspective, acknowledging Morocco’s readiness to deliver a historic organization of top-tier competitions like AFCON 2025 and the 2030 World Cup with Portugal and Spain. He remarked on Morocco’s modern stadiums and the population’s deep passion for football and the national team.
The international conference, organized by the Future Media Initiative (FMI), gathered over 150 journalists, content creators, and media professionals worldwide. It focused on the interplay between traditional and new media, using football as a strategic entry point and highlighting the sport’s socio-economic impact in Morocco.
