Manama, Ahmed bin Salman Al-Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, received Zhang Baojuan, Vice Chairperson of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People’s Congress of Jiangsu Province, People’s Republic of China, along with her accompanying delegation.
The meeting was attended by Ni Ruchi, the Ambassador of China to Bahrain, and Bahraini parliament members, including First Deputy Speaker Abdulnabi Salman Ahmed, MPs Mohammed Yousif Al Maarafi, Maryam Saleh Al Dhaen, Ahmed Sabah Al Saloom, and Abdullah Khalifa Al Rumaihi.
The Speaker praised the deep and evolving relations between the Kingdom and China, across various developmental fields. He highlighted the attention these relations receive from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Excellency President Xi Jinping of China, as well as the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
The Speaker confirmed parliamentary support for the strategic partnership between Bahrain
and China, benefiting both countries and their peoples, following the joint statement from His Majesty’s visit to China in May as the Arab Summit chair.
He highlighted the progress in bilateral relations across various sectors, stressing the need to continue enhancing cooperation for the mutual development of both nations.
Zhang Baojuan expressed her gratitude for Bahrain’s efforts in strengthening cooperation, especially given the historical ties and the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations.
She reaffirmed China’s commitment to deepening friendship and cooperation in political, economic, investment, and parliamentary areas while expanding joint efforts in vital and developmental sectors.
