Rabat: Strengthening bilateral relations across various sectors between Morocco and Hungary was at the heart of the 5th Morocco-Hungary Joint Economic Commission, held on Wednesday in Rabat.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Hungary’s Deputy State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Katalin Bihari, who is responsible for External Economic Affairs, stated that the commission provides an opportunity to review bilateral relations in the fields of economy, culture, tourism, health, agriculture, and energy. This statement followed a meeting with Fouad Yazourh, Ambassador Director General of Bilateral Relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates, which was part of the commission’s agenda.

The commission coincides with the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Morocco and Hungary, marking a significant milestone in enhancing bilateral relations and setting the stage for strategic partnerships, as highlighted by Bihari.

In terms of trade relations, Bihari pointed out that in 2023, Morocco emerged as Hungary’s major trading partner on the African continent. Additionally, she mentioned that a delegation of businesspeople will visit Casablanca to discuss mutual business opportunities and explore collaborative avenues to boost economic and commercial exchanges between the two nations.

The 5th Morocco-Hungary Joint Economic Commission serves as a strategic platform to bolster cooperation between the two countries and identify new partnership opportunities in crucial sectors.
