Rabat: Strong wind gusts, snowfall from elevations of 1,500 meters, heavy rain and thundery showers, as well as cold weather are expected from Monday to Wednesday in several provinces of the Kingdom, the General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) announced.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, strong wind gusts ranging from 75 to 90 km/h are predicted to occur on Monday from 12:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. in several provinces including Al Hoceima, Larache, Fahs-Anjra, Chefchaouen, M’Diq-Fnideq, Tetouan, Tangier-Assilah, Figuig, Nador, Jerada, Oujda-Angad, Taourirt, Berkane, Driouch, Guercif, Ifrane, Taza, Boulemane, Sefrou, Kenitra, Taounate, Fez, El Hajeb, Midelt, and Errachidia. These warnings have been issued as an orange-level weather alert by the DGM.
Snowfall, ranging between 40-60 cm, is expected from elevations of 1,500 meters from Monday (2:00 p.m.) to Wednesday (12:00 p.m.) in the provinces of Al Hoceima, Sefrou, Boulemane, Taza, Guercif, Ifrane, Midelt, Beni Mellal, Khenifra, and Tinghir. Additionally
, snowfall between 10 and 40 cm will be recorded in the provinces of Al Haouz, Azilal, Ouarzazate, and Chefchaouen during the same period.
Furthermore, heavy rain and thundery showers measuring between 50-80 mm are forecast from Monday (6:00 a.m.) to Tuesday (12:00 p.m.) in the provinces of Tangier-Assilah, Ouezzane, Fahs-Anjra, Al Hoceima, Chefchaouen, Tetouan, Larache, M’Diq-Fnideq, and Taounate. Meanwhile, a similar weather episode with rainfall between 30-50 mm is expected in the provinces of Kenitra, Sidi Kacem, Salé, Sidi Slimane, Khemisset, Taza, Sefrou, Ifrane, Fez, Meknes, El Hajeb, Khenifra, Azilal, Beni Mellal, and Moulay Yaacoub.
Additionally, cold weather with temperatures ranging from -6°C to 0°C is anticipated on Tuesday in the provinces of Al Haouz, Azilal, Tinghir, Midelt, and Ouarzazate.
