Support Mechanism for MSMEs Launched Under HM the King’s Vision

Rabat: Support for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) is part of a comprehensive reform process under the wise leadership of HM the King, as highlighted by the Head of Government during a national meeting dedicated to the official launch of a new support mechanism for MSMEs. The initiative is part of an enlightened strategy to promote investment, ensuring inclusive and sustainable development while creating jobs, particularly for young people.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Akhannouch emphasized the significance of MSMEs as a driving force in the national economy, noting that they account for over 90% of the country’s entrepreneurial landscape and serve as a vital engine for generating wealth and employment. The newly launched support mechanism is tailored to bolster these businesses by considering the unique economic characteristics of each region, thus promoting social and spatial equity.

Furthermore, the government has embarked on implementing measures aimed at enhancing the bus
iness environment through a strategic 2023-2026 roadmap. This includes the simplification of investment procedures, the facilitation of electronic business creation, and the activation of digital platforms like the CRI-Invest platform. Additionally, the plan involves ambitious structural reforms of the tax system and aims to reduce payment delays.

The support mechanism for micro-enterprises provides access to three types of investment aid: assistance for creating permanent jobs, regional aid to boost the attractiveness of certain areas for investment, and aid for priority activities aimed at directing investment toward promising sectors and future-oriented professions. This support can cover up to 30% of the eligible investment amount, with the potential to combine this aid with additional support offered by the regions.
