Two U.S. Soldiers Missing During African Lion 2026 in Morocco


Tantan: Two U.S. soldiers participating in African Lion 2026 were reported missing on May 2, 2026, around 9 p.m., near a cliff at Cap Draa in the TanTan region, according to official sources from the Royal Armed Forces.



According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Moroccan, U.S., and other assets participating in the African Lion exercise immediately launched coordinated search and rescue operations, involving ground, air, and maritime assets.



Investigations are underway to shed light on the circumstances of the incident, the same source states, adding that additional information will be provided as it becomes available.
