U17 World Cup (Round of 16): Morocco Defeats Mali (3-2), Advances to Quarterfinals


Morocco: The Atlas Lion Cubs’ goals were scored by Ziad Baha (29th) and Ismail El Aoud (45+11th, 66th), while Raymond Bomba (45+6th, pen.) and Seydou Demb©l© (90+6th) netted for Mali. Morocco will face Brazil in the quarterfinals of the competition on Friday at the Aspire Zone in Doha.



According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Morocco secured their place in the quarterfinals of the U17 World Cup after a closely contested match against Mali. The victory was marked by a strong performance from the Moroccan team, with Ziad Baha opening the scoring in the 29th minute. Ismail El Aoud further strengthened Morocco’s lead with goals in the 45+11th and 66th minutes.



Mali’s efforts to equalize included a penalty converted by Raymond Bomba in the 45+6th minute and a late goal by Seydou Demb©l© at the 90+6th minute. Despite Mali’s attempts to stage a comeback, Morocco maintained their lead until the final whistle.



Morocco’s advancement sets up a challenging quarterfinal match against Brazil, which is scheduled to take place at the Aspire Zone in Doha.
