Rabat: Morocco has turned development into a long-term state project built on stability, sovereignty, and social cohesion under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, the country’s ambassador to Indonesia, Redouane Houssaini, said on Thursday. Speaking at a reception hosted by the Moroccan Embassy in Jakarta to mark the 27th anniversary of HM King Mohammed VI’s accession to the Throne of His Glorious Ancestors, Houssaini said Morocco had achieved profound progress across key sectors of the economy while reinforcing its position as a regional hub for trade and investment.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Houssaini cited advances in manufacturing, logistics, renewable energy, and the phosphate industry, alongside flagship infrastructure projects including Tanger Med Port, Dakhla Atlantic Port, the Royal Atlantic Initiative, and the Nigeria-Morocco Atlantic Gas Pipeline. On foreign policy, the ambassador said Morocco’s approach, guided by the vision of HM King Mohammed VI, was rooted in diversifying partnerships through dialogue and mutually beneficial cooperation.
Indonesia’s Trade Minister, Budi Santoso, extended congratulations on behalf of the Indonesian government and people to HM King Mohammed VI, as well as to the Moroccan government and people, commending the Kingdom’s economic and social achievements over the past 27 years. He said bilateral ties, built on more than six decades of friendship, mutual respect, and cooperation, had gained renewed momentum since Morocco and Indonesia established a Strategic Partnership in 2023.
Santoso also underlined the complementarity of the two economies, describing Morocco as a gateway to Africa and Indonesia as a gateway to the Indo-Pacific. He welcomed the mutual recognition of halal certification, saying it would further facilitate trade and investment between the two countries. He reaffirmed the commitment of both governments to deepen their strategic partnership in support of shared prosperity.
The reception brought together Indonesian cabinet members, lawmakers, ambassadors accredited to Indonesia, members of the diplomatic corps, representatives of the business and academic communities, and members of the Moroccan community living in Indonesia.
