UNGA: Morocco’s Govt. Head Highlights Africa as Cornerstone of HM the King’s Initiatives

New york: “His Majesty the King has placed our continent at the center of a well-defined strategic vision for a united and prosperous Africa, in full respect of its identity while opening up to balanced international partnerships,” Akhannouch stated in Morocco’s address during the General Debate of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, this ambition is embodied in the Rabat Atlantic African States Process (AASP), a project grounded in a new geopolitical solidarity. This process, he explained, aims to transform Africa’s Atlantic coastline into a hub of security, stability, and socio-economic opportunity.

In the same spirit, he highlighted the Africa-Atlantic Gas Pipeline project as a perfect example of this insightful vision-one that is drawing international attention. He added that the initiative provides concrete responses to challenges related to energy, the economy, and climate, while positioning Africa as a key player in the global economy.

The Head of Government further noted that HM the King has consistently emphasized that Africa must turn its challenges into opportunities for development and growth, harness its assets, assert its own vision of development, and take full control of its destiny.

Akhannouch concluded by stating that Africa is now asserting itself as a space of renewal and innovation, thanks to a series of initiatives and structuring projects that are accelerating its integration into the global system.
