UNRWA says newly-issued evacuation orders in Khan Yunis means more suffering and displacement

GENEVA: The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) said families in Khan Yunis received new evacuation orders; which means more suffering and displacement. 'Families had to pack what was left of their belongings and run, amid bombardment, and with nowhere safe to go,' said UNRWA in a post on X. 'People in Gaza are exhausted, living in inhumane conditions, with no safety at all.' The death toll of the Israeli occupation's violent shelling today of the eastern areas of Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip, reached 71. Around 200 others were wounded. The strikes coincided with the forced displacement of civilians under catastrophic humanitarian and medical conditions. The eastern areas of Khan Yunis have been subjected to growing forced displacement, forcing civilians to leave and seek shelter far from the targeted areas, either on foot or using primitive means of transport.
