Weather: Very hot with temperature 6°C above the seasonal average and continues to rise through week

Very hot conditions are expected to prevail today in Palestine with the temperature 6°C above the seasonal average and continues to rise through the week, according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD). Winds are southwesterly to northwesterly, light to moderate, and sea waves are low. The temperature in the capital, Jerusalem, and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 34°C and a low of 24°C, and in Ramallah and Hebron a high of 33°C and a low of 23°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea, and the Jordan Valley temperature is expected to reach a high of 44°C and a low of 28°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 34°C and a low of 26°C in Gaza and the coastal areas. Another rise in temperature is expected tomorrow, Sunday, to become 8°C above the seasonal average. No change in temperature or weather conditions is expected for Monday. However, another rise in temperature is expected for Tuesday to become 9°C above the seasonal average, said the PMD, which warned people against direct exposure to the sun for long periods during peak hours, and against setting fire to dry grassy areas.
