22nd International Textile Show ‘Maroc in Mode’ Commences in Casablanca


Casablanca: The 22nd International Textile Show ‘Maroc in Mode’ (MIM), held under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, commenced in Casablanca. It attracted both Moroccan and international visitors eager to explore innovations, collections, and cutting-edge technologies in the textile industry.



According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the event is organized by the Moroccan Association of Textile and Clothing Industries (AMITH) in collaboration with CEMS, and runs until November 7. Under the theme “Morocco, the Smart Hub for Global Textile,” MIM is a pivotal event for the future of Moroccan textiles, showcasing national expertise and fostering new international collaborations.



Minister of Industry and Trade, Ryad Mezzour, highlighted the textile sector’s role as a key job creator, with 230,000 direct jobs. The sector is the third-largest exporter, generating overall revenue of MAD 63 billion, with MAD 43 billion from exports and MAD 20 billion from the local market.



Mezzour emphasized the strategic significance of the sector, noting its recovery from a period of crisis to reclaim its place in the industrial ecosystem. He stated that this growth is aligned with the High Royal Guidelines, aiming to stimulate job creation, accelerate decarbonization, and enhance the added value of national industry.



The MIM 2025 is a crucial event for the African textile and clothing industry, featuring over 200 exhibitors from Morocco and abroad. It provides a platform for international contractors and buyers to discover Morocco’s potential and explore new partnership opportunities.
