94th Interpol General Assembly Scheduled for Hong Kong/China in 2026

Marrakech: The announcement was made during the closing ceremony of the 93rd INTERPOL General Assembly, held from November 24 to 27 in Marrakech. On this occasion, the Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance, Abdellatif Hammouchi, handed over the INTERPOL flag to the representatives of Hong Kong/China, in the presence of the organization’s outgoing president, Ahmed Naser Al-Raisi, the new president-elect, Lucas Philippe, and the secretary general, Valdecy Urquiza, as well as members of the Executive Council.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the two representatives of the host of the next General Assembly expressed their gratitude to Morocco for this session, which they noted would remain memorable in the history of the organization. The General Assembly is INTERPOL’s supreme governing body, composed of representatives from all 196 member countries.

The world’s largest gathering of law enforcement leaders, the Assembly brings together police chiefs and senior officials from around the globe. Each year, it examines major crime trends and security threats worldwide. Tasked with electing the members of the Executive Committee, the governing body that sets the Organization’s policy between sessions, the Assembly takes all important decisions concerning general policy, the resources needed for international cooperation, working methods, finances, and programs of activity. It also provides an opportunity for countries to establish ties and share their experiences.
