AFCON Morocco 2025 to Set Records with Over 1 Million Tickets Sold


Rabat: The Confederation of African Football (CAF) secretary general has announced that the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Morocco 2025 is set to be a record-breaking event with over one million tickets sold. Speaking during a press briefing, he emphasized the exceptional preparations by Morocco to host what he described as a ‘global’ event, highlighting the quality of the ‘world-class infrastructure’ established for Africa’s flagship competition.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the CAF secretary general expressed gratitude to His Majesty King Mohammed VI for his continuous efforts in developing African football and for Morocco’s commitment to providing its sporting infrastructure for the event. He noted that the enthusiasm for this AFCON is unprecedented, with more than one million tickets sold and nine stadiums set to host the competition.

The event will also see increased global reach, with broadcasts in 30 European countries in addition to the 54 African countries, and 3,800 media outlets accred
ited for coverage. Véron Mosengo-Omba, the CAF secretary general, praised the nine stadiums, describing the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium as a ‘true museum,’ and expressed confidence in the tournament’s success in terms of competitiveness, hospitality, and financial revenue.

Mouad Hajji, the general coordinator of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), reiterated that AFCON Morocco 2025 is not just a continental competition but a global event. He highlighted the efforts by the CAF and the Local Organising Committee (LOC) to ensure smooth mobility for spectators, supported by Morocco’s road, rail, and hotel infrastructure. The tournament will be hosted in nine stadiums across six cities: Rabat, Casablanca, Tangier, Agadir, Fez, and Marrakech.
