Angola Pays Tribute to Late HM King Hassan II for His Support in Fight for Independence

Luanda: The Republic of Angola paid tribute to the late HM King Hassan II in recognition of Morocco’s support for this southern African country’s independence, during a ceremony coinciding with the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Glorious Green March.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the late Sovereign was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor, presented on Thursday in Luanda by Angolan President Joo Lourenço. This distinction was received by the Kingdom’s ambassador in Luanda, Saadia El Alaoui, as a token of appreciation for Morocco’s backing for Angola’s fight for liberation, which celebrates this year the 50th anniversary of its independence.
