First Lady of El Salvador Visits Lalla Asmaa Center for Deaf Children in Tangier


Tangier: Gabriela Rodriguez De Bukele paid a visit to the Lalla Asmaa Center for Deaf Children in Tangier, where she explored the various outbuildings and received explanations about the center’s facilities and services provided to children with hearing impairments.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the center was inaugurated in June 2023 by HRH Princess Lalla Asmaa and is equipped with modern technology. It employs innovative educational programs to create new opportunities for individuals with hearing impairments. The center is recognized as a benchmark on both national and continental levels for its support of deaf and hard-of-hearing children.

During her visit, Gabriela Rodriguez De Bukele attended vocational training workshops focused on baking, hairdressing, and sewing, as well as workshops on robotics and games. The visit highlighted the center’s commitment to offering diverse skill development opportunities for children.

Upon her arrival, Gabriela Rodriguez De Bukele was welcomed by several
dignitaries, including the governor of the Fahs-Anjra province, Abdelkhaleq Marzouki, and other prominent officials like M’hamed Ahmidi, Mounir Laymouri, Loubna Tricha, Ouafae Chakir, El Abbes Bouhlal, and Laila Mars. The visit underscored the collaborative efforts to enhance educational and vocational training for deaf children in the region.
