Heatwave to Impact Several Moroccan Provinces from Saturday to Tuesday


Rabat: A heatwave and hot weather conditions are expected from Saturday to Tuesday in several provinces of the Kingdom, the Directorate General of Meteorology (DGM) announced.



According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the provinces of Tata, Es-Semara, Assa-Zag, Boujdour, Oued Eddahab, Aousserd, Tarfaya, Tan-Tan, Taroudant, and Laayoune will experience a heatwave with temperatures ranging from 41 to 44°C from Saturday to Tuesday, as stated in an orange-level alert bulletin issued by the DGM.



The same phenomenon, with temperatures ranging between 37 and 41°C, will affect during the same period the provinces of Sidi Slimane, Rhamna, Nouaceur, Khemisset, Sidi Bennour, Youssoufia, Beni Mellal, Fquih Ben Salah, Meknes, Khenifra, Fez, Kenitra, Sidi Kacem, Benslimane, Berrechid, Khouribga, Settat, Chichaoua, El Kelaa des Sraghna, Marrakech, Moulay Yacoub, Taounate, Larache, Ouezzane, Essaouira, and Safi, according to the same source.



In addition, the DGM noted that the provinces of Agadir-Ida-Outanane, Chtouka-Ait Baha, Inezgane-Ait Melloul, Tiznit, Rabat, Sal©, and Skhirate-T©mara will experience hot weather on Monday and Tuesday, with temperatures ranging from 37 to 41°C, while temperatures between 34 and 37°C are expected during the same period in Sidi Ifni, Casablanca, Mediouna, Mohammedia, and El Jadida.
