Rabat: Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye on Saturday expressed his “sincerest thanks” to His Majesty King Mohammed VI following the Pardon graciously granted by the Sovereign to Senegalese supporters convicted of offenses committed during the Africa Cup of Nations competitions organized by the Kingdom of Morocco from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the royal pardon was issued on the occasion of Eid Al Adha, allowing the Senegalese nationals to soon reunite with their families. President Faye acknowledged the clemency and humanity shown by His Majesty King Mohammed VI through a social media post on platform X, emphasizing the longstanding fraternal relationship between Senegal and Morocco.
The President expressed his gratitude for the gesture, which he believes honors the relationship between the two nations. He concluded his message with heartfelt Eid greetings to His Majesty the King and the Moroccan people, underscoring the spirit of unity and brotherhood that the royal pardon symbolizes.
