Rabat: HM King Mohammed VI received the foreign ministers of the three countries of the Alliance of Sahel States at the Royal Palace in Rabat. The meeting included Karamoko Jean Marie Traor© of Burkina Faso, Abdoulaye Diop of Mali, and Bakary Yaou Sangar© of Niger’s Transitional Government.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, this meeting is part of the Kingdom’s enduring and strong relations with these Sahel countries, marked by genuine friendship, mutual respect, active solidarity, and productive cooperation. The ministers expressed gratitude to His Majesty for his ongoing interest in the Sahel region and his initiatives to promote economic and social development across the region.
The ministers praised the King’s initiative to grant the Sahel countries access to the Atlantic Ocean, highlighting their commitment to advancing this project. They also briefed HM King Mohammed VI on the institutional and operational progress of the Alliance of Sahel States, which serves as a framework for integration and coordination among the member countries.
