Rabat: Rider Abdelkebir Ouaddar on the horse “Chacsara” won His Majesty King Mohammed VI Grand Prix on Sunday, as part of the Moroccan Senior Show Jumping Championship. The championship took place in the context of the 41st Horse Week, organized on July 12-19 at the Royal Equestrian Sports Complex and Tbourida Dar Es-Salam in Rabat, under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, in this competition of two rounds, Ouaddar posted a time of 79.85 seconds and 4.26 penalty points in the first round, and 4 penalty points in 46.15 seconds in the second round. He finished ahead of Mohammed Azoum on “Sienna Aeg,” who signed a time of 82.21 (8.30 penalty points) in the first round and 49.69 (0 penalty points) in the second.
Third place went to Ghali Boukaa astride “Ike 1348,” with times of 82.38 (10.37 penalty points) and 48.03 (0 penalty points) in the two final rounds, respectively. At the close of the event, President of the Royal Moroccan Equestrian Sports Federation (FRMSE) Moulay Abdallah Alaoui presented the trophy to the winner and medals to the top three finishers in the Moroccan Senior Show Jumping Championship.
The 41st Horse Week brought together nearly 400 pairs (riders and horses) who competed in 20 different show jumping and dressage championships.
