Manama, Jameel bin Muhammad Ali Humaidan, the Minister of Labour, opened the ‘Careers Day’ event at Arab Open University (AOU).

The event was attended by Ali Abdul Hussain Al Asfour, the Northern Governor, and Dr. Hesham Mohamed, the Assistant to the President of the Arab Open University in Bahrain.

Private sector institutions showcased the job opportunities they offer, the necessary skills for each position, and emerging career patterns in Bahrain’s labour market.

The event aimed to inform the Arab Open University students and graduates about professions that suit their specialties and equip them with the needed experience in applying for jobs, preparing CVs and sitting for job interviews.

The minister affirmed the need to align educational outcomes with Bahrain’s labour market needs and matching university students’ specialisation choices with private sector requirements to facilitate their employment.

Humidan said that the Bahraini government has launched numerous initiatives to make Bahrainis the pre
ferred choice in the labour market.

He highlighted the collaborative efforts between the Ministry of Labour, the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), the Education and Training Quality Authority (BQA), and the Higher Education Council (HEC) to align educational and training outputs with employers’ needs.
