Jameel bin Mohammad Ali Humaidan, Minister of Labour met with Shaikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Director-General of Vatel Bahrain.
Humaidan affirmed the Labour Ministry’s keenness to support national efforts which contribute to providing various productive sectors with qualified national working force , including the hotel and hospitality sector, considering the growth Bahrain is witnessing in the tourism sector,
The further development of the hotel services will create career opportunities for citizens which will enhance Bahrain’s competitiveness as an attractive tourist destination in the region, he added.
The two meeting discussed the progress of the academic programs delivered by Vatel Bahrain, and its efforts to enhance the skill set of the students to enable them to enter the labor market , equipped with international standards in the hotel and hospitality sector.
Humaidan stressed the importance of the role played by Vatel in providing the hotel sector with Bahraini employees, through its updated specialised programmes.
The Labour Ministry is keen to raise the rates of employment of citizens in this sector, considering that education and specialized technical training are among the most important means to achieve goals for this sector, Humaidan said.
Shaikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Director-General of Vatel Bahrain, affirmed the keenness of the school to further develop its academic programmes to meet the labour market requirements.
He expressed keenness to further develop cooperation with various related agencies to enhance the school’s role in graduating qualified citizens in the Bahrain hotel and hospitality sector.
