Rabat: On High Instructions of His Majesty the King, Supreme Commander and Chief of the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Mohammed Berrid, Inspector General of the FAR and Commander of the South Zone, received on Thursday in Marrakech Rear Admiral António Duarte Monteiro, Chief of Staff of the Cape Verde Armed Forces, on the sidelines of his participation in the Marrakech Air Show 2024. During this meeting, the two military leaders engaged in discussions to explore and enhance the military cooperation between the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) and the Cape Verdean army.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the dialogue between the FAR Inspector General and the Chief of Staff of the Cape Verde Armed Forces focused on several aspects of military collaboration. This included training initiatives and participation in multinational exercises, as highlighted in a press release from the FAR General Staff. The meeting was an opportunity for both sides to acknowledge the robust relations between Morocco and Cape Verde and to deliberate on potential areas for expanding their cooperation.
Both officials expressed a commitment to strengthening the existing military ties and extending their collaborative efforts to additional areas of mutual interest. The discussions underscored the importance of mutual trust and respect between the two nations, which are seen as crucial elements in achieving shared goals and promoting stability and security within the African continent.
