Rabat – Morocco’s Digital Transition and Administrative Reform Minister Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni held a meeting with a delegation of French businessmen, entrepreneurs and investors. These talks, held on Tuesday in Rabat, touched on strengthening Morocco-France cooperation in the digital and high-tech sectors.
The meeting comes as part of French President Emmanuel Macron’s official visit to Morocco, accompanied by his spouse, Brigitte Macron, and a high-level delegation, symbolizing the strategic nature and depth of bilateral relations between the two countries.
On this occasion, El Fallah Seghrouchni stressed that this visit illustrates an exceptional partnership between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of France, a partnership based on a shared desire to bolster ties of friendship and cooperation in strategic areas such as digital technology.
This meeting comes in line with a “drive seeking to promote virtuous and sustainable partnerships in the strategic digital sector,’ she noted, highlighting
the Kingdom’s economic transformation, which has turned it into a destination of choice for international companies, particularly those engaged in digital innovations and advanced technologies.
El Fallah Seghrouchni emphasized that Morocco had launched a number of large-scale projects, making the Kingdom a strategic gateway between Europe and Africa; a region rich in opportunities for development and cooperation. ‘Today, Morocco is an essential gateway to the African continent.’
This momentum falls also in line with the Maroc Digital 2030 national strategy, which aims to propel Morocco into a regional leader in digitalization and strengthen its position on the global economic stage, she furthered.
For his part, French Enterprises Movement (MEDEF) President Patrick Martin praised the richness of exchanges and the quality of projects carried out jointly by France and Morocco in various sectors. According to him, digital infrastructure projects are particularly promising.
Digital infrastructures are a cross-
cutting sector, covering issues of technological innovation, training and digital infrastructures, he noted, expressing his admiration for Morocco in terms of technical and technological training, particularly in the training of engineers. French companies present in Morocco are determined to further their commitment to the Kingdom’s digital development, Martin continued.
For her part, Orange Group CEO Christel Heydemann reiterated her group’s commitment to continuing its investments in the Kingdom, particularly in the development of fiber optics and 5G. ‘We intend to continue investing in Morocco to support the development of digital infrastructure that are essential for the Kingdom’s future,’ she said, referring to the 2030 Football World Cup, set to be hosted by Morocco alongside Spain and Portugal.
Heydemann noted that this event will allow Morocco to shine on the international stage, thanks to modern digital infrastructure that will enhance its attractiveness.
El Fallah Seghrouchni expressed her convi
