Local Authorities Convene in Safi to Implement Flood Recovery Program


Safi: The meeting opened with the recitation of Al-Fatiha for the victims of the floods, followed by prayers asking the Almighty to grant a speedy recovery to the injured. It was attended by members of the follow-up Committee, and officials from public institutions, along with representatives of professional chambers, merchants, artisans, as well as affected residents and civil society members.



According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the meeting provided an opportunity to present the components of the flood recovery program, which includes a series of urgent practical measures aimed at immediately mitigating the effects of this disaster. Notably, the program focuses on the provision of emergency aid to families who have lost their personal belongings and the care of damaged housing through necessary restoration works.



Furthermore, the program covers the reconstruction, restoration, and rehabilitation of damaged commercial premises while ensuring support for their owners. This initiative aligns with the High Royal Guidelines aimed at preserving the dignity of citizens, guaranteeing decent living conditions, and strengthening resilience.



Emphasis was also placed on the necessity of comprehensive mobilization and full commitment for the optimal and efficient implementation of these measures. Additionally, the importance of strengthening coordination among all relevant actors to begin executing the measures as soon as possible and respond swiftly to the needs of the affected populations was highlighted.



During the meeting, representatives of residents, professionals, professional chambers, and elected officials praised the noble Royal gesture, expressing their profound gratitude and heartfelt thanks to HM the King. They also conveyed their full willingness to contribute to the success of this program.
