Rabat: Members of the Moroccan national football team, quarterfinalists in the 2026 World Cup, expressed on Thursday their immense joy and great pride in participating in the festivities celebrating the 27th Throne Day.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, head coach Mohamed Ouahbi expressed immense honor and great pride felt by the members of the national team in participating in the festivities marking this Glorious Day, which is of great importance and so dear to the entire Moroccan people.

In a statement to the press on the sidelines of the reception chaired by His Majesty King Mohammed VI in M’diq to mark the Throne Day celebration, he conveyed his heartfelt thanks to His Majesty the King for the Sovereign’s actions toward advancing the Kingdom and Moroccan football, thus enabling Moroccan players to perform at such a high level.

For his part, Atlas Lions’ captain Achraf Hakimi emphasized that this glorious day is “very important for all of us.” “We are proud of our King and of being Moroccans,” he stated.

In turn, goalkeeper Yassine Bounou also shared his great joy at taking part in the festivities celebrating the Glorious Throne Day, extending his best wishes to His Majesty the King on this joyous occasion.

In a similar statement, player Noussair Mazraoui said that participating in these festivities is, for him, an immense honor and a source of great pride, adding that all players on the national team wish to express their heartfelt thanks and deep gratitude to His Majesty the King on the occasion of the Glorious Throne Day.
