Manama, Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs, participated in the celebration organised by Anne Jalando-on Louis, the Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines to the Kingdom of Bahrain, on the occasion of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Committee in Manama celebrating the raising of the ASEAN flag on the 57th anniversary of the establishment of the committee, under the slogan “Connected and Resilient Community.”
Ambassadors from the ASEAN countries attended the celebration.
Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed praised the relations of cooperation, and strategic partnership between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the ASEAN, and their progress under the diplomatic approach of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, with the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
The Undersecretary affirmed the Kingdom’s dedication to reinforcing political and economic
cooperation with ASEAN countries at both bilateral and multilateral levels. This commitment is intended to strengthen regional and global security, peace, and prosperity in line with the objectives and principles of the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia and its amended protocols.
He further highlighted the importance of developing these relationships within the framework of the Joint Action Plan (2023-2027). This approach underscores the Kingdom’s ongoing efforts to contribute to regional stability and global harmony.
Ambassador Anne Jalando-on Louis expressed her appreciation to the Kingdom for its commitment to strengthening cooperation and partnership with the ASEAN Association. She acknowledged the Kingdom’s support for the activities of the diplomatic and consular missions accredited in Manama, recognising its role in advancing shared political and development interests.
