Rabat: The Moroccan Jewish Community of the Marrakech-Safi region celebrated, on Tuesday at the Mohammed VI Museum for the Water Civilization in Marrakech, the 27th anniversary of the accession of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to the Throne of His Glorious Ancestors, during a ceremony marked by solemnity, patriotism, and communion.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the event was organized in an atmosphere of joy, fraternity, and loyalty to the Glorious Alaouite Throne. It was attended by notable figures, including the Wali of the Marrakech-Safi region and Governor of the Marrakech prefecture, Khatib El Hebil, heads of external services, representatives of local authorities, elected officials, civil and military figures, as well as numerous members of the region’s Moroccan Jewish community.

In a speech delivered for the occasion, the president of the Moroccan Jewish Community of the Marrakech-Safi region, Jacky Kadoch, extended, on behalf of all community members, his warmest congratulations and best w
ishes for health, happiness, and success to His Majesty King Mohammed VI. He implored the Almighty to preserve the Sovereign and crown with success His noble actions in the service of the Kingdom and the Moroccan people.

The celebration of the Glorious Throne Day reflects the unfailing attachment of all components of the Nation to the Glorious Alaouite Throne and constitutes an eloquent expression of the profound and constant communion between the Sovereign and His people, Kadoch emphasized.

He noted that this celebration comes at a time when the Kingdom is pursuing, under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, a vast process of political, economic, and social reforms, which has profoundly transformed Morocco over the past decades. Throne Day, he continued, is also an opportunity to renew the mobilization of all Moroccans in favor of continuing development projects and consolidating the achievements made on the path of progress, modernity, and prosperity.

In this regard, Kadoch recall
ed that since His accession to the Throne in 1999, His Majesty King Mohammed VI has initiated an ambitious dynamic of modernizing the Kingdom, based on strengthening the national economy, consolidating social rights, developing infrastructure, and enhancing Morocco’s influence on the regional and international stages, while ensuring the preservation of the Kingdom’s age-old values and traditions.

On the social front, the president of the Moroccan Jewish Community of the Marrakech-Safi region praised the Royal initiatives aimed at improving citizens’ living conditions, highlighting the numerous field visits carried out by the Sovereign, the efforts to guarantee equitable access to healthcare, as well as the reforms undertaken to promote women’s rights, particularly through the Family Code reform.

Addressing the place of the Jewish community in Morocco, Kadoch emphasized that “for over two thousand years of history, the Moroccan Jewish community has constituted a heritage of exceptional richness, allowing our
children to preserve the memory of a country where they have always lived in peace and to which they remain deeply attached, staying faithful to the supreme interests of the Kingdom.”

“Moroccan Judaism, in Morocco as well as throughout the world, remains deeply committed to peace, at the crossroads of two sister cultures, while carrying a universal message of respect, dialogue, and tolerance,” he added.

On another note, Kadoch highlighted the Moroccan model of religious and cultural coexistence, which he described as unique, pointing out that Moroccans have managed to build, over the centuries, a harmonious coexistence based on mutual respect, making it possible to preserve a lasting balance between national unity and cultural diversity.

Dwelling further on the religious aspect, he noted that the Kingdom continues to shine thanks to its model of moderation embodied by the Institution of the Commandery of the Faithful, which gives Morocco a benchmark position in promoting values of tolerance and combating e
xtremist discourse, highlighting moderate Islam and the indisputable religious legitimacy embodied by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful.
